First Steps Brooklyn is a beautiful homely mixed aged centre for 30 children, our under two’s and over two-year olds play and learn together creating an environment for meaningful interactions. We are excited to invite applications for a Centre Manager to join our team on a full time permanent basis.

As our Centre Manager you will have a strong vision and passion for quality early childhood education. You will lead the day to day operations of the centre, including managing centre enrolments and budget with the support of a centre administrator. You will also have a close support network that includes a Business Manager and Professional Services Manager.

Our successful candidate would be responsible for coaching and mentoring the team, building close relationships with whanau, parents and local community while driving the delivery of high quality education and care, plus ensuring compliance standards are achieved.

To be successful, you will need:

  • Experience in leading a centre or team
  • An ECE teaching qualification and certification
  • Strong knowledge of current ECE practices and ministry regulations
  • Strong curriculum knowledge and demonstrated leadership in all aspects of curriculum
  • Effective communication skills, the ability to work to deadlines and a positive 'can do' attitude.
